Eric Jaffe designs and directs campaigns for candidates, ballot measures and organizations. He has fifteen years of experience in elected government, political campaigns, and public affairs.
Prior to forming Jaffe Public Strategies in 2005, Jaffe was an associate for three years with Staton & Hughes, one of California’s leading campaign consulting firms.
In 2001, Jaffe served as statewide spokesman for Initiative 773, which raised Washington State's tobacco tax to provide health insurance for low-income families.
He developed a talent for message development and media relations while working at SCN Public Relations under the tutelage of Ace Smith, one of the top political researchers in the nation. Jaffe later spent two years directing public affairs efforts in the Bay Area at Solem & Associates.
From 1994 to 1997, Jaffe advised Missouri Governor Mel Carnahan on federal policy from the state's office in Washington, DC. Jaffe also has experience on Capitol Hill, where he worked on policy for Majority Leader Richard Gephardt and Rep. Pat Danner. He also worked on the 1992 Clinton-Gore campaign and helped plan the 1992 Democratic National Convention.
Jaffe has a B.A. in Political Science and History from Washington University in St. Louis. He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife Brigit and son Milo, 2.
